Jersey Cow 5 years

Nice cow. Keeps body condition good and does well on grass. We have hand milked and machine milked, both in stanchion and parlor. She is a smart cow. Very tame though does like to butt small children. Bred for July.

One teat is half pink from frost bite (iodine dip got missed being dried off before we switched to powder). She likes being milked. We always just milked her once a day (pulled calf at night). Doing that she peaked over 2 gallons. If you had no calf you should be able to get around 4 if you pushed.

She had one bout of mastitis once. She calved when we were on vacation when she was with the beef cows. She is good on all 4 quarters

She doesnt like to take other calves. We made it work once but it wasnt very pleasant.

In the summer she is real slick hided. ;2nd to last picture) Beautiful cow. Bred to Shorthorn (Bull pictured last). Should give a great dairy calf.

She is dry now. Calf pulled 2 weeks ago.
