Build flight hours while practicing and performing search and rescue, disaster response, and/or cadet flight orientation. Missions include visual & electronic search and rescue, aerial photography or other imagining, and/or demonstrating basic flight skills to cadets. All volunteers provided training in desired mission sets, monthly proficiency flights based on qualifications, and funding for instruction based on student needs. Missions include: search-and-rescue for crashed/missing aircraft, vehicles or persons; airborne photography during flood response, excessive snow, wildfires, etc.; transport of critical/lifesaving supplies and equipment. Local Cessna 172 and 182 aircraft are all GPS equipped - over half feature G1000 avionics. Accelerated promotion based on certificate.
